If you’re a lover of bluegrass or roots music that leans on that genre, you are in luck: we have two of the finest coming up as a duo this month.
Jenny Whiteley was born into a musical famly, and has built a career as a multi-instrumentalist and genre-hopping singer and songwriter with two Junos, a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award, and a list of concert and recording collaborations that is a who’s who and what’s what of roots music: Sarah Harmer, Mariposa, Paririe Oyster, Stanfest, Amy Millan, and on and on.
Sam Allison is a composer, musician, and singer whose interests and tastes range as far as the ear can hear. He produced the Juno-nominated “Original Jenny Whiteley” and performs with just about everyone playing guitar, bass, and banjo (including at our first concert with David Newland), as Lotus Wight solo and as part of the trio Sheesham, Lotus and ‘Son (they spent last summer on an extensive European tour).
When you watch these two play together, you’ll get something special out of it. Guaranteed, or your money back.
